We are a local chapter of Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP), an international federation begun in 1999,
now composed of over 70 non-governmental member organizations.
NP uses the methods of Mahatma Gandhi, and works, by invitation, with local and international agencies to restore
and maintain peace in areas of crisis around the world. The NP LOGO, above, shows birds of different colors,
symbolizing the diversity of nationality, spirituality, language and ability which exists among our members.
NP Peace Teams work on the BLUE GLOBE of EARTH in a spirit of NONPARTISANSHIP, with love and respect for all
concerned parties. M. Gandhi demanded these virtues of his followers, and they are required of all NP representatives.

An attractive method of donation is the purchase of NP PEACE BONDS, beautiful, meaningful GIFTS OF PEACE
for all occasions, ranging in cost from $10.00 to $500.00.
NP Peace Bonds may be purchased at www.buypeacebonds.org.
Nonviolent Peaceforce policy states that new deployments will take place only if one year's funding is in the bank,
in order to cover ALL existing and pending projects. From the beginning, NP has depended on the generosity of
individuals and groups who have recognized the value and feasibility of NP's approaches to peacekeeping, deterring
violence and protecting human rights. Every recruitment for NP Peacekeeping Field Team Members has drawn 15
or more applications for each opening. NP growth has been phenomenal and must be supported by equally phenomenal
publicity and funding.
NONVIOLENT PEACEFORCE SAN DIEGO (NPSD) exists for the purpose of supporting international
Nonviolent Peaceforce, and informing our fellow San Diegans about the successful work of NP's professional,
unarmed, civilian Peacekeepers in the U.S., Sri Lanka, the Philippines, and Guatemala. Due to worldwide
financial changes, plans which had progressed for over 1 & 1/2 years for sending NP Peacekeepers to
Uganda in 2008, and other locations, have had to be placed on hold. However, adequate funding has been
received during the first quarter of 2009 to allow resumption of plans for working in Uganda, and adding the
possibility of sending peace teams to Georgia, formerly S.S.R.
